In my life, I’ve been to a number of sex toy parties, even before I was old enough to be comfortable with the idea. (I was introverted but I wanted to be cool like my cousins.) I’ve been to a number of these things (at-home toy party, adult party, sex party, naughty party, those parties, etc.) but never thought too much of them. Lots of times, it’s just a way to spend money and time with the ladies.
So what is the percentage of it? Fun/Business/Education/Party? The ones that I have been to were more about “let’s get down to business”. Even up to a little over a year ago – my bachelorette party, I had one that I didn’t quite appreciate. On one hand, I was a little upset because I wanted to get drunk, party, limo, male strippers…but a friend of mine wanted pizza and sex toys…and at the other end of the spectrum, the most amusement came from the fact that a toy that the lady passed around had the face of Chewbacca. No one else agreed, but I was still amused. One thing that I DID appreciate about the party was the fact that she played trivia games based on sexual know-how. It was a way to get the group involved and to break up the sales pitches. I kept winning so I got banned from answering questions.

Needless to say, there weren’t many things to remember. I don’t even recall the name of the party company, which is sad. I never bought anything…the lady wasn’t too professional and admitted to taking toys home with her and that’s why she wanted to “talk” about it (we-vibe), it’s no longer part of her “kit”. My mom ended up buying pheromone-infused perfume stuff and gave it to me, which was cool. Hahah. I don’t know if anyone else got anything, but it was just a little uneventful and she took a long time to pack up and the stripper had to wait for her to move her stuff. (Yes, I got my way! My mom bought me a stripper and it ended up badly – he closed by conversing about lizards and left with one of the girls at my party.) What I am trying to say is that she arrived early, waited around, started late – on purpose, then (while aware of her timing/schedule), chose to take her time and she didn’t have much to deal with anyways. The whole night was pretty damn awkward. And that is my most recent party story.

The reason for my blog entry, today, is to tell you that I think I’ve found a company that – just may – be breaking the mold. I came across this company through Face Book, I think it was a “like” request thing. I thought “oh, that looks cute, I should check this out”. From there, I found myself browsing the whole site, reading about the company, googling the owner and just reading all of the cool background surrounding this company. I will now introduce you to Yvonne Silva; she is the founder of Onjenoo. She has a great site, great branding, cute logo, an online presence, a blog, toy-knowledge and most importantly, she educates. She puts on classes and workshops for people to learn about sex, sexual relationships and about ways to overcome sexual issues or obstacles that occur in everyone’s lives. Plus, she has an adorable model (Bernie Dexter) with bettie bangs as her Onjenoo girl! Another fun thing that she does is give people ideas for their parties. Themes! No one really thinks about having themes and I super-love themes for everything possible. I appreciate Yvonne’s creativity.

If I had a party or if I know anyone who is going to have one, I will suggest Onjenoo. (For one thing, I am in Southern California, with Onjenoo.) But I also like who they are, I like that they know what they are doing and I like that they have an area on their site for luxury toys. I may be working with Onjenoo in the future because I want to be part of the movement. I want to see luxury toys in Party-Girl-Kits. If I look back to who I was a few years ago, not knowing much about toys, their brands, their exact purposes…the memories kind of freak me out. With experience, you learn about the things that need to be taught to more people out there because there are so many clueless souls who may think that all toys are the same, the only differentiating factor being the price tag. Which is not the case at all.

Isn't she adorable?!
Anyhow, if you’re interested in throwing a sex toy party in the So Cal area, you may want to head over here and check out Onjenoo. Yvonne is based in San Diego, Ca but she is branching out all over and up into the Los Angeles area. Thanks for reading my strange stories and about new lovelies! Also, a “thank you” to Yvonne for adding me on Face Book; because it has already introduced me to new products and new ideas.
