Days ago, in Burbank, California, there was a huge event that brought the industries finest all into one location, the Marriott, to discuss the future of sex and self pleasure through some very innovative products.
The showroom was setup with many diverse vendors who were there to show their new products and to start new relationships with other people in the business. If the companies were not located in the hall, they were having their own party out in the tent pavilion. Each company took their booth space and planned it out to reflect their message as a business. Some were straight-forward and focused on their products, while others (Topco Sales) went BigTop-Co and set up a circus tent. I was very impressed with everyone’s booth, their displays and every creative thought that went into their products. I appreciate you all!
My plan with this blog post is going to be: to show you the highlights that I encountered and to tell you about some amazing people and things that I incurred at the ANME Show. Going in alphabetical order, as per the booth layout sheet, I start my journey with the letter B.
Out in the tent pavilion was the cute Bswish booth, they had a big backdrop with a photo that hinted at the fact that they may be coming out with lingerie? Perhaps! I didn’t get much of a chance to talk, but I was able to snap some toy pics. There was a Bcurious showcased in glass, just whispering to passerby’s “I could totally rock you.” I’ve heard it’s a strong one! But I don’t know from experience yet. =)
Inside the showroom, located near the center, was California Exotic Novelties. They had a huge booth that spanned across the floor and it was littered with sex toys. Imagine how many orgasms in their setup…Jeezus. So, I must tell you about the most exciting thing in their booth. CEN is going to come out with a line of rechargeable luxury vibrators that span from affordable all the way up to investment-quality. The name of this line is JOPEN. (Pronounced just as you see it.) The toys that are named Vr1 through Vr9 are going to be the beginning, and the lower priced ones, while Vr10 through Vr12 will be the higher-end toys. The latter mentioned will be recharged in a base that works magnetically and lights up to tell you about the charge status. The earlier Vr toys will be the plug-and-charge type. One of the early Vr’s that stands out a lot to me are the set of Kegel Balls…they vibrate. Waterproof, oh yes, the whole line is waterproof…amazing. But these Kegel balls, they have a mode that makes them vibrate upon your muscle contraction. A reward for working your kegels! (lol). As for the Vr10, 11 and 12, they are all rabbit style vibrators with different types of clitoral stimulators because we all have our preferences. I totally want the Vr11 because of the full-coverage style clitoral nub. All of the JOPEN toys also have two motors per toy. That means that they aren’t going to lack power and they are all top-line bullets. I am very excited about this. If there is one thing that California Exotic Novelties does best, it’s their rabbit vibrators. With JOPEN, they are outdoing themselves with their Couture line and totally (probably), going to blow their best rabbit vibes outta the water too. Digital Playground, the amazing company behind the best-made pornos available, super high production quality… the ones behind Pirates, Pirates 2 – Stagnetti’s Revenge, they were at the ANME to show off their toy line! How exciting is that? They had a huge pirate ship with fabric sails and lights and a treasure chest and cannon! *Sigh* Set design. They rock. On top of all that, Roylin, of Kama Sutra Closet, she took me back into the tent pavilion and introduced me to Joone (of Joone Films), himself! I just looked up at him with a dropped jaw. Thank you Roylin! *whisper* Damn, talk about tall, dark and handsome…*/end whisper* Anyways…back to what I was trying to say…Wow. They had their toys that I’ve seen and a few that I hadn’t! No one knows this, because I’ve hardly seen it in stores, but I’ve lusted over the Hidden Pleasure Vibe, its black and gold. But now, I have the pink one to lust over! They are going to be releasing one in white and a pink one, also. Hell yes. I can tell you now, that you can look forward to a review of the pink pendant (wow adorable) and possibly Jesse’s Smokin’ Pistol rabbit-style vibe. One thing that sets Digital Playground Novelties apart from the rest of the market is their attention to detail. They absolutely hit the mark on going beyond the typical looks for a sex toy. I sincerely appreciate this facet. Everything is beautiful and very well-detailed. Another thing that I have to address, because I am a jewelry designer, is the awesome work of Peggy! She designed a DP necklace out of platinum and diamonds. It doesn’t get any better than that. Brand loyalty, display of art and an appreciation for design! *sigh, she’s good.* Thank you to everyone over at Digital Playground for the awesome hospitality!
Now, onto the Doc. Famous Doc Johnson was in the center of the main hall with a huge space and they were showing off some unique new things as well as some improvements upon past toys. I recently did a review on the Aluminations vibrator and I was excited to see that they are coming out with a second version of it! Instead of being fully metal, there will be a silicone divider between the aluminum halves and that will give way for new sensations while still keeping it cool with the temperature play. The iRide looks interesting too. It’s a pink ride-on that equates to a dildo rocking horse. See, toys just keep getting more interesting these days. Thanks to the Doc for the cool new stuff to look forward to!
The awesome guys behind the scenes of the best glass products on the market are teaming up with Erotic Embrace to bring you some great distribution of the well-loved Simply Blown. Tony, of Erotic Embrace, was able to tell me about some really cool products and some teasing hopes of some solid stainless steel toys. I will be sure to give more details as soon as he passes them along! *Grr at the tease!* =) But, I can show you the latest and greatest that are about to be out on the market by Simply Blown! First, I must tell you that I had no idea of the depth in design behind the Simply Blown line. Of course, you can tell, just by looking at them…way different. This guy is good. I had no idea that he is a well-known glass artisan that has studied with Dale Chihuly, who learned and works in the Murano Glass technique! Scott, who is the artisan, his glass speaks for itself and if you get the chance to see more of his work, you will know what I mean. I wonder what got this guy into the sex business…lol. =) Oh, I also would like to give a shout out to his manager, Allen, who does a great job of organizing everything for Scott! Because he never puts his name on any of the Simply Blown stuff, he just got outed. 
Oh yes, the products! The Lover, the one with the shaft that turns into a heart at the end, is expected to arrive at Kama Sutra Closet soon, and is much anticipated! Who wouldn’t want a glass lover? I do. There is also a preview of a new one, it doesn’t have a name yet, so that just makes it even more mystifying. (The shape reminds me of an exclamation mark, so you can see which pic I am talking about.) In short, their stuff looks even more amazing in person than it does in the photos that you’ve seen online and there is much more to look forward to. Lovin the Simply Blown!
